The RSC and disabled parking

I have recently received from Elizabeth Dixon, a governor of the RSC and who advises generally on disabled and accessibility issues, the following e-mail which I would like to share with you. As you will see Elizabeth is looking for the widest support possible.

"I thought you would like to know that Warwickshire County
Council have told me that the disabled parking places in Sheep
Street will be available 24 hours per day. They are looking at
adding appropriate signage in this location & at the other
places in town that show restricted parking hours for blue-badge
holders which they may first need to discuss with the DfT.

Therefore, I will only be objecting to the TRO for
Waterside & Chapel Lane, that any disabled driver can use the
parking places, instead of the RSC providing 17 on their land for their
patrons only as the planning application & permission.

You do not have to be disabled to object, you do not have to live in
Stratford upon Avon to object & you do not have to be a RST patron to
object. You will not have to 'give evidence' either.

But, if you believe this TRO is wrong you can object by 15 May 2009
to:-

Roger Bennett, Environment & Economy Directorate, PO Box
43, Shire Hall, Warwick, CV34 4SX or

alternatively, email
rogerbennett@warwickshire.gov.uk

Thank
you to everyone who has contacted me offering their support, which I really
appreciate.

regards, Elizabeth"
